The Merrell Speed Strike 2 GTX is a lightweight, low-cut hiking shoe designed for brisk adventures on the trail. It features a breathable mesh upper with welded TPU overlays for durability and protection, combined with a GORE-TEX waterproof and breathable membrane that keeps feet dry in wet conditions. The shoe utilizes a traditional lace-up closure with webbing eyelets for a secure fit. A padded tongue and collar provide comfort, while the removable Kinetic Fit Base insole supports the arch of the foot. The midsole incorporates Merrell's Air Cushion technology in the heel for shock absorption and stability. The Vibram TC5+ outsole offers reliable traction on various terrains with 5 mm lugs. This model is a successor to the previous Speed Strike and provides improved breathability and a sleeker profile. Available in size 49 (EU) for men, the shoe weighs approximately 340 g per shoe (based on size 42).
