The Merrell Speed Strike 2 Gtx is a versatile hiking and trekking shoe for men that combines lightweight agility with durable protection across various terrains. This model features a GORE-TEX membrane that ensures waterproof breathability: feet stay dry in wet conditions while moisture vapor can escape, enhancing comfort during strenuous activities. The upper is made from a combination of mesh and synthetic materials that provide flexibility and support, complemented by a protective rubber toe cap against stones and roots. Inside, a removable EVA insole offers additional cushioning. The midsole utilizes Merrell's Air Cushion technology, which absorbs shocks and improves stability, supported by a molded nylon arch shank for grip on uneven surfaces. The outsole is made of Vibram TC5+ rubber with a multidirectional lug pattern that provides reliable traction on both dry and wet surfaces. The shoe weighs approximately 350 grams (size 42) and has a drop of 9 mm. Available in Red Oxide, this model is suitable for day hikes and fast backpacking.
