The Hanwag Waxenstein Bio is a mid-cut shoe made from chrome-free tanned leather, offering a comfortable wearing experience. The StraightFit HANWAG last concept, featuring a newly developed toe box, allows for a straight alignment of the big toe and provides more space for the toes for individuals with a wider forefoot. The Composole is the first fully compostable outsole for mountain and trekking shoes, with two different profiles for various applications.

This shoe is suitable for everyday use, leisure activities, and walks on well-maintained paths, as well as light hiking in flat terrain. The category primarily determines the stiffness of the sole, the drop (how rounded the sole is to enable smooth rolling), and the shaft construction, which positions a model within the categories.
