The shoe is suitable for demanding hikes in the low mountain range and easy trekking tours off the beaten track and on steep climbs. The stiffness of the sole, the rounding of the sole for good rolling, and the shaft structure determine how a model is categorized. You will find categories A, B, C, and D for each model, which indicate the stiffness of the shoe:

• D = very strong and fully crampon-proof (step-in/automatic crampon)
• C = strong and limited crampon resistance (strap-on/semi-automatic crampon)
• B = firm hold and solid but flexing sole for trekking and hiking
• A = soft, very good flexing structure

The shoe features traditional, sophisticated craftsmanship where the upper and sole unit are connected with seams. The leather lining provides pleasant wearing comfort due to rapid moisture absorption and a natural wearing feel. It offers a good fit but dries slower than synthetic lining, making it less suitable for touring in wet areas.

Reduced seams minimize the risk of potential pressure points and seam wear, although this simple appearance is difficult and expensive to produce. The shoes are 100% resolable thanks to their pinched or double-stitched design.
