One of the main issues with safety carabiners has always been keeping them in the correct position on the harness, both with and without a rope. The same problem arises when rappelling.

To address this issue, Grivel developed a new carabiner that features a locking mechanism which secures the carabiner to the harness, ensuring it always maintains the correct position.

The Clepsydra can be easily placed with an intuitive hand movement.

  • The locking mechanism secures the carabiner to the harness during both belaying and rappelling
  • The carabiner remains fixed to the belay loop even when the gate is opened
  • Completely automatic operation
  • The surface of the carabiner is generously designed and rounded to protect the rope and belay loop
