The Akron Mid GTX by Garmont is a versatile hiking shoe with a mid-high shaft that provides reliable support and comfort during demanding day hikes, light mountain treks, and via ferratas. The upper is made of durable suede leather, enhanced with protective RPU reinforcements. Inside, the PFC-free GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane offers breathable moisture protection, making it ideal for dynamic outings in changeable weather. The Ortholite® Ultra™ insole provides long-lasting cushioning comfort, while a semi-rigid polypropylene insert in the sole construction adds necessary stability. The EVA midsole offers additional shock absorption. Particularly impressive is the grippy MICHELIN® Off Road outsole with OCX3 and OC1 rubber compounds, which, thanks to its Fiberlite technology, provides excellent traction on rock, roots, and wet surfaces. With Heel Lock™, LaceLock, and the ergonomic a.d.d.® system, the Akron Mid GTX adapts perfectly to your foot, preventing pressure points and blisters for a completely secure and comfortable walking experience.
