The Akron Mid GTX by Garmont is a versatile hiking shoe with a mid-height shaft that provides reliable support and comfort during demanding day hikes, light mountain treks, and via ferrata routes. The upper is made of durable suede leather, complemented by protective RPU reinforcements. Inside, the PFC-free GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane offers breathable moisture protection – ideal for dynamic tours in changeable weather. The Ortholite® Ultra™ insole provides long-lasting cushioning comfort, while a semi-rigid polypropylene insert in the sole construction adds necessary stability. The EVA midsole ensures additional shock absorption. Particularly impressive is the grippy MICHELIN® Off Road outsole with OCX3 and OC1 rubber compounds, which, thanks to its Fiberlite technology, offers excellent grip on rock, roots, and wet surfaces.
