Secure Next-Level - the Pinch Belay Device
Are you ready for an innovation on the rock? The Edelrid Pinch offers a completely new belaying experience - with blocking support for use in sport climbing and multi-pitch routes, as well as serving as a rappel device in rope access techniques!
Attention: This is a semi-automatic device for use in mountaineering and climbing sports according to EN 15151-1, as well as for use as a rappel device according to EN 12841-C.
Harness-centered, optimized rope flow
No more compromises: The Pinch is directly attached to the central ring of the harness. Due to its close and low position, the semi-automatic does not need to be fixed when feeding rope, and the brake rope can always be gripped with all fingers. This not only gives you better control over the rope flow but also allows you to feed 20 to 30 cm more rope at once - for smooth clipping! The lead climber will thank you.
A flow that is relaxed
Forget rope twists and unwanted pauses. The linear rope flow through the front brake grooves made of steel reduces tangles when lowering. The speed can be controlled in addition to the lowering lever by the pressure of the braking hand, which especially contributes to increased brake rope control when using thin, soft ropes.
Safety First with Anti-Panic Function
More safety, not just for beginners, is promised by the integrated anti-panic function. A special feature is the second braking stage. This helps you gently and controlled lower lightweight climbing partners by continuing to pull the lowering lever, even if the rope acts up in systems with high rope friction. Professionals can permanently disable the anti-panic function using a provided screw.
Flexible Belay Station Competence
In multi-pitch routes, the Pinch shows its full flexibility. You can attach it in four different directions in 90° increments at the belay station to ensure optimal rope flow.
