Product details
The Pinch is a semi-automatic, innovative, and highly versatile belay device with blocking support designed for use in sport climbing, multi-pitch routes, and rope access techniques. As the first device on the market, the Pinch can be directly attached to the central ring of the harness. Due to its close-to-body and low position, the Pinch does not need to be fixed when paying out rope, allowing the brake rope to be held with all fingers at all times. Additionally, the compact belay system increases the range, enabling the belayer to pay out 20 to 30 cm more rope at once. The linear rope path through the frontal steel brake grooves reduces rope twist during lowering and rappelling. The speed can be controlled not only by the lowering lever but also by the pressure of the braking hand, which contributes to enhanced brake rope control, especially when using thin, soft ropes. The anti-panic function provides an added level of safety, particularly for beginners. A unique feature is the integrated second braking stage, which allows for controlled lowering by pulling the lowering lever further when belaying particularly light individuals or in systems with high rope friction. Users in rope access techniques and experienced climbers can permanently disable the anti-panic function using a provided screw. Another advantage: when used in multi-pitch climbing, the Pinch can be attached in four different directions in 90° increments at the belay station, allowing the belay lever to always be positioned for easy operation.
