The use of the new lightweight Airdrive rotor shifts the balance of the reel from the front unit to the rear part of the reel, providing better overall balance and increased sensitivity while fishing. The feel of the bait is transmitted more effectively, allowing for quicker reactions. The precise and robust Tough Digigear gearbox ensures high retrieval power and a long-lasting, silky-smooth, quiet operation.

The new Airdrive bail is lighter than before, extremely durable, and, combined with the new bail arm, significantly reduces tangles during casting. If the line becomes tangled on the bail arm, it simply slips through by turning the handle over the arm into the line roller, eliminating the need for intervention. The ATD Type-L drag releases the line under load without high initial resistance, providing a lot of security even when battling a big catch.

The Longcast ABS spool made of aluminum features an optimized release edge that reduces friction and increases casting distances. The Twistbuster III construction on the line roller ensures that the line is not flattened during retrieval, resulting in less twist.
