Maximum insulation and moisture management for cold weather rides, as an intermediate layer between baselayer and jacket.

Polartec® Alpha® fabric ensures excellent insulation - soft, stretchy and lightweight. A few years ago we thought it would be great for baselayers, but it felt rather damp and clammy against the skin. However, when we were looking for more thermal protection for our gravel rides in sub-zero temperatures, we tried the Alpha® prototypes as a second layer over a Prosecco baselayer - and came up with the perfect combination for cold weather rides. We worked on the details and perfected this second layer for cold days. We added a half-length zip so it doesn't bulk out too much around the belly. And we've made the zip slightly off-centre to avoid multiple zips meeting at the neck. We've kept the fit close to the body, so you have the choice of stuffing them into your tights or wearing them over them like we do. We've also found it works great over a Flanders, Bandito, Miracolo or Seamless baselayer.
