Maximum insulation and moisture management for cold rides as an intermediate layer between base layer and jacket.

The Polartec® Alpha® material ensures excellent insulation – soft, stretchy, and lightweight. A few years ago, we thought it would be perfect for base layers, but it felt rather damp and clammy on the skin. However, when we were looking for more warmth for our gravel tours in subzero temperatures, we tried using the Alpha® prototypes as a second layer over a Prosecco base layer – and thus discovered the perfect combination for cold rides. We refined the details and perfected this second layer for cold days. It features a half-length zipper to avoid bulk in the stomach area. The zipper is slightly off-center to prevent multiple zippers from meeting at the neck. The fit is body-hugging, so you have the option to tuck it into your tights or wear it over them, just as we do. We have also found that it works excellently over a Flanders, Bandito, Miracolo, or Seamless base layer.
