Black Diamond Capitan MIPS

The Capitan is an ultra-stable helmet from Black Diamond that offers additional protection on the sides and back while maintaining a sleek, bucket-shaped fit for all-day comfort. The helmet is also equipped with the new, revolutionary MIPS technology (Multidirectional Impact Protection System). The MIPS system protects the head from the rotational forces generated upon impact when the blow comes from an oblique angle. This additional protection system has been shown to reduce the rotational force on the brain by absorbing and redirecting angled impacts on the helmet. With a two-part ABS shell construction made of EPP composite foam and molded EPS, the Capitan meets the increased protection requirements proposed by the UIAA for the sides and back, while the ventilation openings provide adequate breathability in warm temperatures. The fit of the sleek adjustment system is easy to customize, and the integrated headlamp clips with an elastic holder on the back secure your lighting at night.
