AKU Superalp GTX

The Aku Superalp GTX W's is a women's hiking shoe that remains comfortable even on particularly long hikes or when carrying a heavy backpack. For these demands, the Italian shoe specialist AKU has developed the IMS3-Exoskeleton sole. The lower part features an outer skeleton made of polyurethane that rises at the back to encase and protect the heel, providing optimal support and stability while walking. The asymmetrical structure, with a wider inner section and a polyurethane elevation, offers support to the midfoot while preventing overloading and thus pronation. The upper part of the midsole features a lightweight polyurethane inner section that provides shock absorption and high pressure resistance. The Vibram sole ensures perfect grip. Additionally, the upper part of the Superalp GTX W's is impressive as well; the suede leather combined with the integrated Gore-Tex membrane offers breathability and weather protection. A rubber rand protects against debris and impacts. Furthermore, the shoe is tailored to the anatomy of the female foot, featuring a more pronounced arch to prevent sliding forward. The heel is also narrower, which helps prevent chafing and thus reduces the risk of blisters, and the same applies to the forefoot area. The cuffs at the top are flared to reduce tension on the calves.
