I wouldn't be aware of a lid, but a tight lid somehow doesn't make sense for a fermentation jar - you don't want something that is fermenting to be tightly closed - the lid provided is perfectly adequate and my fermented food stayed fresh for months
No. I have had good experience with the existing closure over several months.
