Is it normal that the lower heating coil does not turn red-hot? Is it the same for you? Does it have fewer watts? I have the version 2 with 450 degrees!

The power rating of these heating rods/coils is either stamped on the rod itself or on the attachment (start/end). It is therefore not visible or very difficult to see. The heating rods also do not have to glow to give off heat. In normal operation with a stone, I didn't pay attention to whether the lower heating coil was glowing (a little red shines through), otherwise you can't see anything anyway.

After the first attempts with dough, I also reduced the temperature at the bottom slightly (30-50°C), but didn't think anything more of it at first. The electronics can't really measure the temperature at the top of the stone accurately either, as the stone is "irradiated" from above and below when heating up. This may be different or even better with an oven costing €800.........

As the pizza stone covers the heating coil, I can't see it, but I can report that I tend to experience the same thing as some others: the bottom gets too hot compared to the top. I have to reduce the bottom heat by about 30° in the programmes to produce a balanced pizza.
