How can the appliance just show me a number on the display after 2-3 hours?
There is only an 8 instead of the temperature and remaining time. The buttons don't do anything, instead sometimes a 7 or 9 is randomly displayed. What does this mean and how can I change it? There is NOTHING in the instructions.

I have only used this unit a few times, but perhaps your unit is defective. Please note that you have to hold the button with the gear down for several seconds to change the settings, then turn the serrated ring to increase/decrease the cooking time or temperature.

Sorry, I've never had that before. It always shows me the temp and the remaining time.
