Do you wash the parts in the dishwasher, contrary to the recommendations?
Personally, I would not wash anything in the dishwasher that is not clearly indicated as dishwasher-safe. If something becomes brittle or damaged by the washing process, it is no longer a guarantee case but your own fault.
