Can this device be used with rechargeable batteries (e.g. Eneloop)?

I have just tried it, it runs with a GP ReCyko+ AAA battery.
It is definitely an AAA battery and not a CR2032. I think rechargeable batteries should not be a problem.
As far as I know, the thing runs on a CR2032 button cell and the battery lasts a good year or more
