Question about De'Longhi Magnifica S

Yes, I have been doing this for a year without any problems, but I strictly adhere to the descaling intervals. However, the hoses from the flow heater to the coffee dispenser tend to calcify. The Delonghi descaling programme does not plan for this and only descales the heater via the steam nozzle. That's why I rinse the coffee circuit manually every 2-3 descaling cycles (fill with descaler and rinse 3 times using the rinse button, then rinse with water).
But the machine is really top-notch, I recommend it without reservations.

I replaced my old De'Longhi after 8 years. I never used a filter and was sometimes careless with the descaling programme.
I would definitely descale (more disciplined than I was). I run my new one (Magnifica) without a water filter. I use a mild descaling agent. The new De'Longhis do not only descale via the steam nozzle. So they are much better than the old ones.
In short: Descaling: absolutely! Water filter: not necessary.

Thanks for the detailed answer :-) With the prices of the decalcifier patorne, I prefer this method.
