Can I heat my food using both compartments? I'm kind of worried about the plastic one. It is safe to heat it?

I have used it and this has been fine.
Heating up plastic is rarely a safe bet - I would probably avoid doing that. Instead, I purchased this one: Koenig HeatsBox
It has a metal inner dish, so its definitely safe to heat, without worrying about the plastic aspect..
