2. Alessi Espresso machine

The 9090 is the first espresso machine in the history of Alessi, as well as the first of countless Compasso d’Oro awards and the first Alessi project to be exhibited at the MOMA in New York. It is the Alessi coffee maker that people love for its ability to be carried directly to the table to serve espresso. “I wanted to give this espresso machine a look that others don’t have.” With these words, Richard Sapper described his idea behind the design of the 9090 espresso machine. It was meant to be not just a mundane coffee maker, but a true "steam machine," to quote the inventor. Made from 18/10 stainless steel, the 9090 is unique not only for its conical shape but also for several useful innovations, such as the larger base for better heat utilization, or the drip spout and cone closure, which allows the coffee maker to be opened with a simple hand movement.

It was the first Alessi object to be included in the Permanent Design Collection of the MOMA in New York. It is also the first multifunctional object because, although it is a kitchen appliance, its high-quality shape means it can also be seen directly on the coffee table. 4. Alessi Moka

With the Moka espresso maker, architect and designer David Chipperfield has embraced a classic design: the moka pot or espresso maker. The octagonal device was originally designed by Alfonso Bialetti in 1935 and marketed as an Italian design icon starting in 1945. Chipperfield's Moka is a deliberate and subtle update of the classic Bialetti.

5. Alessi Menhir

Designed by Michael Anastassiades, the Menhir espresso maker features an absolutely clear line. The name Menhir immediately evokes the power of a form with great symbolic presence: long stones, carefully positioned in the landscape, likely in connection with religious ceremonies or other rituals. The menhirs inspired this iconic tool, which is used for one of the most important modern daily rituals: brewing coffee. Dedicated to those who appreciate exquisite craftsmanship: a true gem of the workshop.

6. Alessi La Conica

This coffee machine, designed between 1980 and 1983, emerged from the further development of the "Tea & Coffee Piazza" project, where prominent architects worked on a design for coffee and tea service. It was Rossi's first project for this large series. The espresso machine quickly became a bestseller for the then-young brand Officina Alessi due to its distinctive shape and became a symbol of 80s design.

7. Alessi Moka Espresso Mugs

Alessi Moka Black - Espresso Maker, 3 Cups

The Alessi Moka, in its well-known shape, transforms and appears in a completely new, elegant black version. This redesign,
a tribute to Alfonso Bialetti's groundbreaking espresso machine, embodies David Chipperfield's vision of creating a timeless yet familiar object, much like the one that emerged at the beginning of the last century. The deep black color gives the Moka a distinctive character and exudes timeless sculptural grace.

"The espresso maker has evolved into a utility item that is as unmistakable as a bottle opener, a pair of glasses, or scissors. It has taken on its own identity and is universally applicable and familiar. In the kitchen and in the everyday rituals of life, it has found its rightful place." - David Chipperfield

David Chipperfield has anchored his innovations in subtle details, such as the flat.

8. Alessi La Cupola

La Cupola Mokakanne by Alessi

As an architect, Aldo Rossi is always in search of the ultimate form: he reduces his buildings to geometric and ancient, very familiar
basic shapes. He works in the same way as a designer: his famous espresso machine consists of cylinders, domes, and triangles that culminate in a small sphere. For Rossi, who drew very similar vessels as a child, this reflects the timeless archetype of the coffee pot – a timeless investment that also makes a very good espresso.

Aldo Rossi Designer - La Cupola Mokakanne

The basic principle of a moka pot is always the same: water boils in the lower part of the pot, then rises through a tube, is pressed through ground coffee, and exits at the top through a small riser tube.

10. Alessi Pulcina espresso machine suitable for induction

Alessi Pulcina - Espresso machine suitable for induction, Red

The Pulcina espresso pot is the brainchild of the creative architect Michele De Lucchi. Pulcina is
the result of a long search: the participants aimed to discover how to optimize the shape of the espresso pot to enhance the organoleptic properties of espresso. Thanks to the special design of the kettle's interior, the Pulcina interrupts the flow of coffee at just the right moment. This prevents the volcanic phase – that final moment of extraction that leaves a burnt, bitter aftertaste. Only the best of the coffee makes it into the cup, allowing its rich, rounded aroma to be fully enjoyed. The spout is relatively pronounced. Its characteristic V-shape resembles the beak of a chick (it. pulcino). It is designed so precisely that it allows for drip-free pouring. Pulcina is practical, functional, and requires.
