A device that makes compost in 24 hours
by Lorenz Keller
Waste bins, also called rubbish bins, have become an indispensable part of our everyday lives. They are used to store, dispose of or separate waste and are therefore an important part of every household or workplace. There are different models to choose from depending on your needs and intended use.
A frequently encountered waste bin is the classic standing bin. This is usually made of plastic or metal and has a lid to keep odours and flies out. It is available in different sizes and designs and is suitable for use in kitchens, bathrooms or offices, depending on the size. The operation varies from manual variants to those with a practical touch sensor.
For use directly under the sink, there are so-called waste systems. This is a practical and space-saving solution for collecting and disposing of waste in the kitchen. These systems are particularly popular in kitchens where space is limited or a minimalist design is preferred. They consist of several bins that are fixed in a frame under the sink. The bins are usually made of plastic or stainless steel and have different sizes to accommodate different types of waste.
Another type of waste bins are waste separation systems, also called recyclables separation bins. Compared to the previously mentioned waste systems, waste separation systems have a much larger volume and do not fit under the sink. They also consist of several containers that are assigned to different types of waste. For example, paper, glass and plastic can be disposed of separately for optimal recycling.
There are special outdoor waste bins for use outdoors or in public areas. These are robust and weatherproof and can be mounted on walls as well as on stands. Their size and capacity make them ideal for use in playgrounds, parks or public spaces. Another advantage is that most outdoor litter bins have an integrated ashtray.
Small cosmetic bins are particularly suitable for use in bathrooms or guest toilets. These are usually made of plastic or stainless steel and have a lid to prevent unpleasant odours. They are available in various sizes and designs, such as a practical pedal bin, and can also be an eye-catcher visually.
The wastepaper bin is usually a relatively small and lightweight container made of plastic, metal or other materials. As the name suggests, it is mainly used in offices, schools, households and other working or living environments to enable the proper collection and disposal of paper waste. There are different designs and sizes of waste paper baskets that can be adapted to the specific needs of the place of use.
In summary, there is a wide variety of waste bins that can be selected according to need and intended use. There is a suitable model available for every need and place of use. When choosing, pay attention to the capacity, the materials and any additional functions that may be required, such as lids or fastening options.
