How long your food will keep in the freezer
by Martin Rupf
Large freezer, deep freezer and chest freezer selection of top brands. Freezers are available with services such as delivery and commissioning or return and disposal of the old freezer. Freezers can be divided into "built-in" and "free-standing" models. However, built-in freezers are rather the exception, but can be integrated into existing kitchen units in XXL kitchens. Freestanding freezers can be placed anywhere. Once you know what type of freezer you want, the question of freezer or freezer, energy efficiency and volume arises. You can easily decide the required size of the freezer or the useful contents based on the size of the household. For an average household, a freezer size of 50 to 80 litres is sufficient. For an average family of four, a volume of 200 to 300 litres is recommended. For larger families 100 to 200 litres more are recommended.
Small freezers or mini freezers are particularly suitable for office use. Many of these mini freezers are very energy efficient (energy efficiency class A++) and usually have a useful capacity of up to 50 litres.
A freezer is good if you don't have much room in the width. Depending on the size, it can be integrated into other kitchen furniture. You have a better overview of your frozen food, as there are drawers in the cupboards that can be pulled out easily. If you have very little space, there are also so-called table freezers. They take up very little space and can be placed practically anywhere. They are particularly suitable as a supplement to an integrated freezer compartment in the refrigerator. If you have a lot of space, it is usually worth buying a freezer, even if it is a small household. The chests are usually cheaper to purchase and usually require less electricity than equivalent cabinets. In addition, the temperature loss when opening the chest is smaller.
For freezers or chest freezers, you will almost only find appliances with energy efficiency class A or higher. Thus the different devices differ between A, A+ and A++. Class A is marked green on the label, but A (without + or ++) is not really energy saving. If you choose a Class A+ device, you can save 25 percent energy; Class A++ devices consume only half as much as a Class A device.
