Mini Alpakka is a pleasantly soft and fine alpaca yarn that is about three times warmer than regular wool. Mini Alpakka has the best insulating properties in our range. The fiber is hollow, fluffy, and breathable on the inside, making it feel warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. Alpaca contains no lanolin.

Our alpaca is of Superfine quality, which means a fiber fineness of 25-26 microns. It is among the softest alpaca qualities used for hand knitting yarns.

The same fiber is used for Alpakka and Mini Alpakka, but they are produced in different thicknesses – Mini Alpakka is 3-ply twisted and Alpakka is 4-ply.

Material composition: 100% alpaca

Origin of raw materials: Peru, Bolivia

  • Yardage: Approximately 150 meters per 50 grams
  • Recommended needle size: Knitting needle No. 3
  • Gauge: 27 stitches = 10 cm

Note: For machine washing, we recommend washing all wool items separately on a wool wash program to treat them gently. Spin gently and dry the garment flat, preferably lying on a towel. Never wash hand-knitted items in a laundry net, as this creates friction that can lead to felting.
