Rosenthal Combination cup - TAC Gropius Skin Gold

The simple white cup is perfect for coffee at noon. The golden handle is an absolute eye-catcher. When Rosenthal launched TAC 1 by Walter Gropius in 1969, his designs also included a completely independent series for the coffee table that did not go into production. At that time, there were already drawings for a dinner service in the product development drawer, which followed the design language of the successful tea service. These served as a template for the current program TAC 02. Thus, decades after his death, the bowls by Walter Gropius are now in series production, with lids that feature the same distinctive side-mounted carabiner-shaped handle as the legendary teapot. Gropius relied on simple geometric shapes. In his spirit, the circle and the sphere remain the defining elements of the simple plates and bowls, with which a complete menu can now be served. The unmistakable Gropius design is also evident in the new coffee pot: its shape closely follows the body of the teapot and rises elegantly. TAC 02 is the result of a close collaboration between the Rosenthal Creative Center and the Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau. This professional cooperation made it possible for this expanded program to do justice to the great design skills of Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius. The graphic decor TAC Skin Gold, with its fine relief and velvety surface, picks up on the theme of structure and contrast that was already implemented in Gropius's original design and enhances the striking form of this timeless design.
