Lousy quality with super performance at a gigantic price!

If it were not the only cordless vacuum cleaner with halfway usable suction power, I would not even pay 100Fr for it.
In short, super power, but piss-poor quality for just under 600Fr (December 2016).

    It's just a shame that
Dyson doesn't put more effort into it. The vacuum cleaner is a plastic monster, everything is creaky, filigree and breaks just looking at it nastily. And that at a price that has washed.

When I compare the Dyson V8 with my Makita cordless drill from the same price range, I almost feel dizzy. The plastic of the Makita is fiberglass reinforced PA6 (nylon), has extremely many struts to strengthen the rigidity. You can easily drop this drill from two meters onto the floor without even scratch marks.
The Dyson in the other hand is made of the cheapest and thinnest ABS plastic, only the dust container is made of the slightly more expensive polycarbonate. Trozdem no comparison to the cordless drill.
The Dyson feels like a cheap TV remote control, while the cordless drill has a fascinating indestructibility.

Sure, it's a bit of a stretch to compare a vacuum with a drill. But both devices are almost equally expensive, battery-powered, made of plastic, have motors, and you hold both in your hand. And it's not just the Makita cordless drill. I can hold any power tool in my garage and it just is better processed. Even the cheap 50Fr NoName angle grinder from the Landi!!!!

I just do not understand why household appliances are always so damn cheaply made. It can not be difficult for 580Fr to produce a qualitatively high quality device.

And what I don't understand the most is that Dyson still has the monopoly on usable cordless vacuums. Why does no other manufacturer make such a device?
Performance from Dyson and quality from Makita, that would be worth 1000Fr to me.

    Short-life battery

Needs a new battery approx. every 18 months because otherwise the performance decreases. The two-year-old battery only sucks for 30 seconds on the high setting and then has to be returned to the station.

Heavy, poor suction power & short battery life

It's not robust - like all Dyson products, it's just plastic everywhere....
And still heavy. It also sucks for about 10 minutes, then it stops. And the suction power is weak: the roller spreads more dirt than it sucks in.
I have now bought a Mio Star for less than half the price. Conclusion: much lighter and sucks better.

Best value in the current range of cordless Dysons. Better than the V6, cheaper than the V10/11 which I don't think are worth the money

I bought this to replace an older model (DC35 I think?) and got a great price during the Black Friday sale. I personally don't think te newer models (V10, V11) are worth any extra. Happy with the V8 - emptying the bin is much better than the older models.

Price performance is not right at all.

We have the Dyson Big Ball 2 would never buy it again.dirt gets stuck or trapped in the bucket for emptying. The power cable does not retract properly. You have to go over the dirt three times with the brush to get rid of it. We don't even want to talk about price/performance (too expensive). I still have an old Dyson dc29, which is very recommendable and usable.

nasty description - only 7 min battery!

The hoover itself is very great, but the description is wrong or worded in such a way that it is misleading. It says: 40 min battery time. However, this is only true on the low suction level. On max. (there are 2 different suction levels) the hoover runs for 7min with the normal attachment. I feel cheated.
