Hello Janjohn,
Don't use abrasive products, just clean with a little vinegar and soap, letting the liquid draw out a little before rubbing with a non-abrasive sponge. Otherwise, a slight oxidation is normal.
Frankly, it all depends on how you use it.
Get a free quote and if it's more expensive than the product, change it (unless you only use it 2x a year).
