I have had one for 7 years. Unfortunately, I cleaned it with an abrasive, now it sticks so much that it has become unusable. Is it possible to replace only the 2 hotplates, keeping the rest of the appliance?

I bought the pretzel iron 2 days ago. When I took the product out of the original packaging and opened it, I clearly noticed that certain parts were not quite firmly connected to each other. Is this a known quality issue with the product? What do you recommend?
