Good day. I put a pizza on the stone once and my pizza shovel left a silver aluminium residue on the stone. Why did this happen? Is it a manufacturing defect? Or should I use a wooden shovel for a stone? Kind regards

I had that too. Since aluminium is one of the most common metals in the earth's crust, I never thought about it.

I cannot see the height of the metal part (3cm being the height of the product with the handle, I assume). How thick is the metal? I am looking for something I can use to pick up an uncooked pizza off a stone, it needs to be ultra thin.

We are really happy with it and use it very often for putting fresh home made pizzas on the bbq and take it off the bbq when they are done. The metal is 1,5mm thick.

Is the wooden handle removable? (Is the wooden handle removable?) That would make transport a little easier... or you could store it completely in the oven.

Only if you drill out the rivets and replace them with screws... I wouldn't do that, though. Alternatively, I would look for a smaller wooden shovel or the old Ooni pizza shovel without a handle.
