Can you charge this vacuum cleaner directly with the cable or do you have to charge it with the station?

Yes, that should work. The charging plug is only latched into the base station at the bottom by a "little hat" and then goes through a hole into the base station. The base station does not seem to have any other purpose than to simply "store" the hand hoover. Here is a picture of the underside: Only the small cap has to be latched and the charging plug is exposed and can be plugged in directly - but I have not tried it out. https://i.imgur.com/AuQ3DN3.jpg
