The silicone lid seals the ice cube tray so that no water can spill, even when you hold the tray at an angle on the way from the faucet to the freezer. Now you can place the ice cube tray in any position, such as tilted between the ice cream and frozen vegetables in a full freezer. The lid allows multiple ice cube trays or other items to be stacked on top of each other. Additionally, the ice cubes are protected from odors in the freezer.
