Tamping compacts the coffee powder in the sieve to obtain a firm and uniform coffee cake with a smooth and even surface.
Correct tamping avoids the channelling effect and ensures that all the coffee powder is extracted evenly. This releases all the flavourings from the coffee.

Compared to calibrated tampers, this tamper provides a better feel for the strength of the different pressure levels. This makes it possible to use different tamper pressure levels for different coffee machines and coffee beans, which offers more options for coffee preparation.

This tamper fits perfectly on 58 mm portafilters.
Through repeated testing, MHW 3Bomber has determined that 58.35 mm is the perfect size for levelling tools and tampers. These fit exactly into 58 mm portafilters and reduce wastage of coffee powder.

The tamper has an ergonomic handle and sits comfortably in the hand. The base is flat.

The entire tamper is made of high-quality materials. The handle is made of solid walnut wood and the base is made of stainless steel (SUS304).
