By tamping, the coffee grounds in the portafilter are compacted to create a solid and even coffee puck with a smooth and level surface. Proper tamping prevents channeling and ensures uniform extraction of all the coffee grounds, allowing all the aromatic compounds to be extracted from the coffee.

Compared to calibrated tampers, this tamper provides a better feel for the strength of different pressure levels. This allows for the use of varying tamping pressures for different coffee machines and coffee beans, offering more possibilities for coffee preparation.

This tamper fits perfectly on 58 mm portafilters. Through repeated testing, MHW 3Bomber has determined that 58.35 mm is the ideal size for leveling tools and tampers. These fit precisely into 58 mm portafilters and reduce coffee ground waste.

The tamper features an ergonomic handle that feels comfortable in the hand. Additionally, the tamper is equipped with a silicone coating that provides a very good grip when pressing down. The base is flat.

The entire tamper is made from high-quality materials. The handle is made of black carbon, and the base is made of stainless steel (SUS304).
