In 1925, two Belgian industrialists met at the Brussels trade fair: one was an enamelling specialist, the other an expert in cast iron. Together, the founders of Le Creuset heralded a new era in the cookware industry.
This was the birth of Le Creuset®: The factory was built in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and the first orange enamelled cast iron cocotte "Volcanique", the colour of cast iron, was produced.
