Bio-based plastics are produced from renewable carbon resources (components of wood and plant biomass). The combustion of such plastics is CO2-neutral, as photosynthesis converts the generated CO2 back into biomass. These plastics are not necessarily biodegradable. Reusable products are characterised by multiple use and longevity. Common disposable products from everyday life can thus be sensibly replaced by reusable alternatives.
