Kai Shun

The Shun bread knife is forged from 32 layers of VG-10 Damascus steel, which encases a core of VG-MAX. This steel is not only corrosion-resistant but also provides the blade with the right hardness and a certain degree of flexibility. The blade has a hardness of around 61 HRC. The wavy, single-sided edge allows you to effortlessly handle bread, roasts, pastries, as well as cakes and larger fruits like watermelons. Thick or tough crusts and skins can be easily sawed through.

The KAI knife features a 12.2 cm long handle made of treated Pakka wood with resin. The Shun Classic achieves optimal grip through its characteristic chestnut shape typical of Japanese knives. The handle elegantly combines the feel of wood with the durability of plastic, particularly enhancing robustness and improved resistance to moisture. The knife's guidance and balance are stabilized by the full tang. Recommended for right-handed users.
