Hammershøi Series. Elegant table decoration in memory of the namesake painter and ceramicist Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948): Hans-Christian Bauer draws inspiration from his creative period at Kähler Design in the early 20th century. While he retains the characteristic fluting of the surface, he gently modernizes the shapes of the originals. Furthermore, Hans-Christian Bauer expands the distinctive design of the famous vase with additional simply elegant accessories, such as a candle holder or a salt and pepper mill. Kähler Design offers an extremely ergonomic spice mill in this tableware series: The typical fluting of the porcelain head creates a ribbing that greatly facilitates the turning and thus the grinding of the inner ceramic grinding mechanism. The body of the spice mill, on the other hand, features the gentle grain of natural oak wood.
