Carbonit IK Replacement Cartridge
Part Number: 245IK-NF
Application Area: Water softening for drinking purposes (not for household utility water) in conjunction with DUO-HP Kalk and VARIO-HP, also usable in devices from other manufacturers (please refer to the drawing).
Description: Cartridge is empty; ion exchange resins in the refill pack must be ordered separately. Substance extraction via granulates/resins. When using ion exchange resins, lime extraction occurs through ion exchange, depending on the resin type, reducing carbonate or total hardness (see operating instructions).
Dimensions: Length 9 3/4 inches, max. outer diameter 73 mm, otherwise see documents/product drawing.
Performance: Depending on the hardness level of the source water and resin type, see operating instructions. After the end of the service life, the resin can be disposed of in household waste. For hygienic reasons, it is recommended to change the resin at least every six months and to replace the refill cartridge every two years.
Flow Rate: Limiting to D=1 l/min is recommended. Higher flow rates are possible but reduce extraction performance. Flow limitation can be achieved by adjusting the ball valve (see operating instructions) or through a flow regulator (see spare parts & accessories).
Usage Notes: Use only with cold water, protect from frost. Depending on the resin type, reduction of total or carbonate hardness; please refer to the operating instructions. Measure hardness using test strips or titration sets (more accurate). Note: use total or carbonate hardness measurement depending on the granulate. Measurement techniques are available in aquarium shops (e.g., brands JBL, Tetra, Sera, ...).
Recommended Accessories: Flow regulator to limit flow to 1 l/min (Part No.: 579062) see spare parts & accessories.
Filter Devices: Standard: DUO-HP Kalk. Alternatively: all devices with VARIO-HP housing in SANUNO with pre-filter assembly.
