Björn Magma

This piece, which is a mixture of cup, bowl and traditional mug, gives free rein to the imagination in its use. It adapts to drinks, invites you to enjoy an aperitif and accompanies your desserts. After an initial firing of the clay at a low temperature, reactive glazes are applied to the earthenware to give it its glossy appearance and colour gradations. After leaving the kiln, the ceramic pieces are immersed in water, creating a thermal shock and the desired craquelé effect. The inspiration for the Magma collection comes from the heart of the volcanic crater of Mount Fuji in Japan. In the cobalt version, the network of veins outlines the craters and testifies to the thermal vacuum created by the cooking technique, just as magma forms after the melting of a volcano.
