Alessi Moka

Designer Alessandro Mendini, in collaboration with Alessi, pays homage to the Moka espresso maker. The rounded shape made of cast aluminum strongly resembles the traditional polygonal Moka from Bialetti, yet it clearly distinguishes itself from it. The ergonomic handle makes pouring easy, and an additional element made of thermoplastic resin is integrated into the lid. Both features help prevent burns. The Alessi Moka was originally created out of a desire to honor the classic Moka from the 1930s and has since become an object of great popularity. Alessandro Mendini took on the challenge of reviving a cult object. He aimed to replicate the traditional model in many details for the Alessi Moka, while naturally making some improvements, such as reinforcing the aluminum to optimize heating. The Alessi Moka contributes to a new and everyday ritual, fresh in its design, familiar in use, and top-notch in terms of durability and craftsmanship. The handling couldn't be simpler: you fill the filter with coffee grounds and the base with water up to the valve, place the pot on the stove, let it boil, and your espresso is ready.
