With her, Alessi won the first "Compasso d'Oro" (1979), which was to be followed by many more. It was the first Alessi object to be included in the Permanent Design Collection of the MOMA in New York. It is also the first multifunctional object because, although it is a kitchen appliance, its high-quality shape means it can also be seen directly on the coffee table.
