Product details

It is the white nights when it doesn't get dark in St. Petersburg. Through the summer-empty evenings strolls the narrator, a young man and lonely dreamer. There he meets a desperate girl, the 17-year-old Nastenka. They engage in conversation, which continues over four evenings, sharing stories about their lives, dreams, hopes, and sorrows. From this chance encounter, a tender love develops. However, Nastenka's heart belongs to another. Dostoevsky's novella, which is among the most famous love stories in world literature, has been sensitively retranslated by Christiane Körner. Stella Dreis has adorned the volume with distinctive illustrations.
