Since the first edition of this textbook, the judiciary has clarified numerous uncertainties and resolved disputes in many areas of civil procedure law. In this second edition, important decisions, primarily from the Federal Court but also from some cantonal courts, have been incorporated, and the text has been accordingly updated. The textbook is aimed at both students and legal practitioners. It is intended to provide students with a foundation for understanding Swiss civil procedure law. For legal practitioners, it serves as a working tool to help categorize civil procedure law within established doctrinal principles, and it aims to provide answers to questions that arise during actual litigation.
