For over 25 years, the textbook established by Professor Oscar Vogel has been the standard work on Swiss civil procedure law. Since its inception, the fundamental principles of international civil procedure law have also been addressed. Evidence of the work's success is that it is already in its 11th edition. The current authorship, comprising both academics and practitioners, ensures high quality and the latest developments in science and jurisprudence.

This edition has been thoroughly revised and updated. The main reason for this was the revision of the Swiss Civil Procedure Code on March 17, 2023, which will come into effect on January 1, 2025. This revision introduces nearly one hundred changes to the existing law. Particular attention is given to the new cost law, the new possibilities for digitization, the amended law on new claims, as well as modifications to the two main legal remedies and the extensive innovations in enforcement.
