The book provides fundamental knowledge about the functioning of electrical machines and drives. It does not offer recipes for the design of machines, as calculation and construction can only be learned through practical experience. The content is tailored to the level of technical colleges and universities of applied sciences. It aims to give students of electrical engineering or mechanical engineering an understanding of what happens within the machines and how they behave in operation. Given the limited time available, this alone requires significant effort, making serious engagement with additional literature nearly impossible for students.
