Das Silmarillion

"The Silmarillion" tells the story of the events of the First Age, a distant era of Middle-earth that the heroes of "The Lord of the Rings" look back on with awe. For the first time, it is presented here with over 40 color illustrations by Ted Nasmith. Middle-earth lay in twilight under the stars, a time when the Elves created great things. But the most beautiful of all are the Silmarils, the jewels that contain the light of the trees. The light that is older than the sun and moon. Yet Melkor, the master of treachery, steals the unique Silmarils.

"The Silmarillion" is the first work that Christopher Tolkien published after his father's death, in accordance with his father's plans.
