Question about PetSafe Cat door Microchip
Why do four batteries for this cat flap last less than a month? Is my cat flap defective? How long should batteries last? My expectation is to have to change the batteries every few years...!
We have received feedback in the past reporting the same problem, but not with this model. During tests by the manufacturer's technical department, it was found that cat fur can accumulate on the top of the draught excluder. This can cause the flap to remain permanently in operating mode and the batteries to discharge more quickly as a result. We therefore recommend checking the top of the draught excluder for fur residue and removing it if necessary. Under normal conditions, the battery life is approx. 12 months.
