Application
Ensure that the terrarium or breeding tub is disinfected and dry. Spread an even layer at least 2.5 cm thick on the bottom of the terrarium or tub. Clean the substrate spot-wise daily and completely renew it every 8 weeks, or as needed.

7. Exo Terra Boston Fern M
Rainforest ground plant. Extremely realistic replicas of real plants. Easy to clean and maintain. Can be used alongside real plants. Creates natural hiding spots for reptiles and amphibians. Dimensions: 9 x 29 x 9 cm. Exo Terra plants. Plants may not thrive in all types of terrariums. Some are too hot or too dry for plants, while others may require different lighting conditions or may simply be eaten by the reptiles. Exo Terra's artificial plants are accurate replicas of plants found in nature and are easier to care for. These plants offer the same benefits as live plants: they are decorative, provide hiding spots, and can expand habitats. A combination of live plants and Exo Terra's artificial plants allows you to fully plant the terrarium—even in the warmest and driest areas.

9. Exo Terra Hygrometer
Hygrometer with analog display. Measures humidity in the terrarium. Alongside the correct temperature in the terrarium, regulating humidity is one of the central topics in reptile care. Each reptile species has individual requirements, and humidity plays a significant role for reptiles in the terrarium. Unlike humans, reptiles absorb most of their fluid needs through their skin and lungs, and incorrect humidity levels in the terrarium can have fatal consequences. Many species of reptiles can quickly develop a dangerous pneumonia if the surrounding air in the terrarium is too dry. Shedding problems and the constant risk of dehydration are also consequences of insufficient humidity.
