Each species of reptile has individual requirements, and humidity plays a significant role for reptiles in the terrarium. Unlike humans, reptiles absorb most of their fluid needs through their skin and lungs, and incorrect humidity levels in the terrarium can have fatal consequences. Many species of reptiles can quickly develop a dangerous pneumonia if the surrounding air in the terrarium is too dry.
